She sits at her mirror,
a smear of blush on her cheek,
black pencil for her green eyes,
and a hint of chartreuse,
She goes to her closet,
picks out a dress,
a decorative hand bag,
matching low pumps,
She flits through the office,
floats to her desk,
goes to a bar,
orders a beer,
She sits all alone,
sometimes with a friend,
turns away suiters,
with a shake of the head,
It's not about you,
It's not about love,
she's nobody's princess
she dances alone,
right into your life,
she doesn't see you,
she's nobody's wife,
she twirls around,
her hands in the air,
she doesn't need men,
she hasn't a care
It's not about you,
It's not about love,
she's nobody's princess
she drinks to your health,
she laughs in your face,
she won't invite you,
back to her place,
she's living her life,
as full as she can,
why should that,
include a man
It's not about you,
It's not about love,
she's nobody's princess
she goes to the bar,
she buys a round,
she leaves the room,
without a sound,
you'll think about her,
the rest of your life,
she doesn't see you,
she's nobody's wife
It's not about you,
It's not about love,
she's nobody's princess
she goes to the bar,
she buys a round,
she leaves the room,
without a sound,
you'll think about her,
the rest of your life,
she doesn't see you,
she's nobody's wife

There once was a Wilde man,
who roamed the avenues,
of old London town,
though his ways were queer,
and his tongue acerbic,
his genius did abound.
He was shaped as a Bedouin home,
or like a bear,
or perhaps a dirigible upon the air,
but he dressed in fashions finest,
fit for a lady's boudoir,
where he would never appear.
To weave tales, he was wont,
about villains both ageless and egregious,
or young lady's shallow and silly,
in pursuit of a suitor,
or a simple verse,
of gallows infamy.
And well he is remembered still,
for his love of art aesthetic,
and disdain for maiden fair,
as well a painting of a man,
his time in Gaol for love,
and his death penny spare.
