Luv 03:28
I don't know what to say, You don't care anymore, I guess it's OK, As you walk out the door, I get down on my knees, Tears in my eyes, You ignore my pleas, Shatter me with lies, and then my heart it dies. You don't care anymore, Guess I'll go, How to even the score, I don't know, Think I'll kill myself, A little suicide, Oh, the guilt you'll feel, When I've died, and then my soul it dies. Oh, hearts are fragile things, But, deep inside, it's always spring. And though love, it never dies, It can spring from another's eyes, and then my heart it sighs. I'm back on top of the world, New love found, Her eyes are liken to pearls, Soft and round, You hold the key, To ever lasting peace, I let you free, Give me release, and then my soul it sighs.

I don't care, Bout the clothes you wear, Bout the colors of your hair, My Lady so fair. And I don't mind, What we might find, My love is blind, My Lady of mine. And if you can laugh about it, I can laugh too, But if you can sing about it, I want to sing with you. I don't worry, Cause I'm in no hurry, Times they seem so blurry, My Lady of fury. And I just can't see, What it is you do to me, How you make me feel so free, My Lady of the sea. And if you can laugh about it, I can laugh too, But if you can sing about it, I want to sing with you. I don't know why, You make me feel so high, Spread your wings and fly, My Lady of the Sky.

A winter breeze, blows through your hair, Colored vessels, unleash fantasy, I wish I, could follow that road, I, . . would know what to do, Run through the hills, chasing butterflies, Run my fingers, across your supple flesh, I don't know why I cry, with the answer in my hand, I don't understand, the way that you feel, Paranoia closes on me, I just got to be free to live, Justifications of lies, drain my heart away, Build yourself up, Let yourself down, But don't let your soul, slip away. Internal torrents, break my heart, Long dead nightmares, tear my mind, Escape with me, to another time, Hold my hand, don't let me go. Build yourself up, Let yourself down, But don't let your soul, slip away.

Nightmare 07:57
I don't know who I am, but I just can't see, Why it has to be so hard, what do you all want from me, After all it's just a name, what they call your face, Still it hurts just the same, tell me what's wrong with this place, So what if I'm not clean, and I only wear one shoe, You all think that I'm your king, shit, who the fuck are you. This here's my city, you better do what I say, If you don't like the way it's run, you better leave here today, We haven't seen the light of day, in six or seven months, See the smoke get in your eyes, feel it in your lungs, Grab your projectors boys, we're going on a run, Get yourself a vest, some chains and a gun. I don't know where I am, but I can see where I've been, You say that I can't lose, but how in hell do I win, You got your fags, you got your blacks, your heterosexual heroes, You got two moons to guide you back, Lord knows, you got your Nero's, And in the park you got your hippies, in their fancy dancy commune, And your Park Avenue hotels, to be in flame pretty soon, Well the Dragon Lady, says, we'll get along just fine, But if you ask me, we haven't that much time. Better get out of here, while you still got your life, If the buildings don't fall on you, they'll get you with a knife, That orchid on your wrist, won't save you from a falling sun, And that book of poems in your hand, won't stop the bullets of a gun, I don't know how old I am, and the paper won't give me the right day, The editor lives on that hill, says I'm better off that way, Now George, he's a friend of mine, his picture's on every wall in town, Raped a girl of seventeen, she's looking to go another round, And there's the man who went to the moon, he's seen things we'll never see, Guess I'll be leaving soon, there's nothing here left for me, In a dream I saw, a girl turn to wood, Maybe it was real, I wouldn't tell you if I could, You say I'm crazy, Out of my mind, You say I'm lazy, Well I've got the time.

Twenty eight days, out on the road, Two years, all on my own, Three months, since I had a steady lay, My girl, she said good-bye, My heart, it lay down and die, Now I, came to see what you had to say, Don't talk to me, I'm personally free, Oh, can't you see, I'm out of touch, Don't go away, Now what do you say, It's a lovely day, Is that too much, I'm on a bend, With a personal friend, It's got to end, Life is such, Is that too much, I'm out of touch. I don't, know what to say, You don't, want me to stay, Guess I'll, be on my way, Don't talk to me, I'm personally free, Oh, can't you see, I'm out of touch, Don't go away, Now what do you say, It's a lovely day, Is that too much, I'm on a bend, With a personal friend, It's got to end, Life is such, Is that too much, I'm out of touch.

Don Quixote 02:37
Flashing black statue, posed on a shadow, of an image, of a stallion. Bleakly he looks on, towards his enemy, in the valley, for he is only one. And the sun stares down, at the old man with contempt, for should a man, be what he's not. And in the distance, the windmills laugh, at a man beyond his prime, "Such a fool he is," "He's crazy, I know the lot." These are the visions, of Don Quixote, Lance in hand, Squire near by. And here all alone, in the plains, Fighting crime, is where he shall, die.

Shaunny, walked down the road, She didn't care, leaves in her hair, Always searchin', always wrong, Someone tell her, I'm writing this song, A song of life, a song of love, tell me . . . . Who holds the sun. A bleeding child, all alone, A local fair in town, leaves without a sound, Always watching, always blind, Someone tell her, it's all in her mind, Time to go, time gone by, tell me . . . . Who holds the sun.

Time is Mine 05:54
Nobody really knows the pain I feel, and I wonder if anyone cares, Nobody sees my love is real, stains inside my heart, I ask for nothing, and nothing is returned, I give until there's nothing left at all, Got to lock it up inside, Can't let anyone see what I hide, You don't care for me, guess I'll curl up and die, It's so simple to see, why I sit here and cry, Time is mine, I don't know what to feel. Nobody really knows the road I choose, and I wonder if I'll reach there, Nobody sees what I have to lose, lovers fall apart, I ask for nothing, and nothing is returned, I give until there's nothing left at all, Got to find my own way, Can't live from day to day, You don't care for me, guess I'll curl up and die, It's so simple to see, why I sit here and cry, Time is mine, I don't know what to feel.

about

This was my first album, originally recorded and published in 1980. Distribution was via cassette tape, and fairly limited. The band name I performed and recorded under at that time was Departure, but when it turned out there was another band recording under that name, it was subsequently changed to Dep Archer Frome in honor of this album. I dropped the name and took up performing under Gary Alan Barker in 2010 when I decided to come out of retirement as a live performer.
